Hard back binding in publisher's original russet cloth covers, gilt lettering to the spine, front board with elaborate gilt lettering and signs of the zodiac around a circular paper onlay, four three-pointed colour paper onlays around the zodiac signs, duplicate blind tooling designs to the lower board, all page edges gilt, bevelled edges. Folio 14½'' x 11¼'' unpaginated. Twelve floral colour plates with an engraved scene containing the months of the year in which chromolithography, etching, and letterpress type all appear together. The leaves of the book are all loose, the covers being secure and complete with rubbing across the corners, snagging across the spine ends with 25 mm splitting of the cloth to upper spine edge.
