Thick quarto. 9¾'' x 7¼''. Contains paper guarded portrait frontispiece, (xvi), 737 + ii pp with 26 full-page single-sided monochrome illustrations throughout. Foxing to the end papers, one page gathering slightly proud, rubbing to the corners, spine ends turned over, sun fading to the fore edge of the rear board. Scarce in original binding.
