From the Straits of Malacca to the Gulf of Pi-Tchi-Li, Fouqueray has not only seen countless boats, he has been able to classify them, choose the most representative, fix their features and their colours within the framework of their activity. The rest of his water-colours are like a unique naval catalogue, Chinese and Indochinese Junks and Sampans, at the same time as the work of a great artist, a journey as informative as it is attractive.
