Jacob and Co.'s Cream Crackers | Blank Retail Invoice / Receipt / Cash Book Jacob and Co. [William Beale Jacob and Robert Jacob] W. Richardson (General Dealer) (Book #ID 100373) Published by Jacob and Co.'s circa 1930. 1930. Original blank invoice book 8¾'' x 5¾'' containing approximately 250 perforated red lined receipt sheets, followed by a blank page for carbon copies to be retained in the book. The top of each sheet has two motifs, the first is red and blue with Jacob's seal 'Jacob & Co.'s Cream Crackers' above which it states 'Airtight ½lb Cartons.' The second is a box of Jacob & Co.'s Cream Crackers 'Sealed Fresh! Sold Fresh!.' Each sheet has the proprietors name and address printed in blue 'Bought of W. Richardson, General Dealer, 64, Ninian Park Road, Riverside, Cardiff.' The originator of the Jacob's brand name was the small biscuit bakery, W. & R. Jacob, founded in 1851 in Bridge Street, Waterford, Ireland by William Beale Jacob and his brother Robert. It later moved to Bishop Street in Dublin, Ireland, with a factory in Peter's Row. A factory in Aintree, Liverpool was opened in 1914. The first sheet has some fox spotting, beyond which the sheets are in clean and bright condition. Unique. Member of the P.B.F.A.
