An exact account of what occurred in Egypt in 1919 will, I believe, help to instruct the British public, who with few exceptions are entirely ignorant of the extent and violence of the outbreak, and will serve to remind the Briton in Egypt of certain characteristics of the people with whom he has to deal.'
