First edition hard back binding in publisher's original black and blue tonic cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered gilt back. 8vo. 9½'' x 6¼''. Contains 266 pp with monochrome archive photographs throughout. The biography of New Zealand pilot Group Captain Leonard Trent V.C., D.F.C. who led a raid on Amsterdam Power Station in 1943. Of 11 Lockheed Venturas taking part in the raid, only one survived. Leonard Trent was 1 of 13 aircrew taken prisoner and he was sent to Stalag Luft III in time for 'The Great Escape'. Trent was caught as he emerged from the tunnel exit. Fine condition book in Fine condition dust wrapper, not price clipped. Number 324 of 1518 souvenir flown cover SIGNED 'Leonard Trent.' to the front cover. 3rd May 1983 post marked stamp, reverse signed by Captain D. J.
