First edition thus hard back binding in publisher's original coarsely woven grey and dark green flecked cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered dark green back, top edge dyed green, blue and white illustrated end paper maps. 8vo. 8½'' x 6''. Detailing his adventures of being shot at in the Khyber Pass by Pathan tribesmen, avoiding Iraqi bandits, spending a night in a Turkish jail, and being a guest of Indian rajahs. He went on a lecture tour of the United States, showing his film footage and telling of his journeys. In 1983, he produced, edited, and released, with his film making sons, a 90-minute film compiled from his home movies. Contains 272 pp with 132 monochrome illustrations from photographs and 62 sketches and maps by the author. Small surface marks to the cloth. Very Good condition book with only the front cover and inside front flap of the dust wrapper being present. Member of the P.B.F.A.
