Contains (ii), 278; 272; 252 printed pages of text with lovely wood engravings across the top of each chapter heading. Third of the front free end paper clipped across the top of each leaf, 'W. H. Smith' subscription library label partially removed from each front paste down, light rubbing across the spine ends and corners. Scarce. Member of the P.B.F.A.
