The Penrose Annual was a London based review of graphic arts, printed nearly annually from 1895 to 1982, Lund Humphries adoption of Monotype technology in 1906 influenced the production of the Penrose which became a policy to try out each of Monotype's new types in the annual, they remain the quintessential record for the development of print media, advertising, photography, design, and typography throughout the 20th century. Contains tissue-guarded frontispiece, tissue-guarded title, (xviii), 268 pp; 100 pp colour and monochrome plates; 96 pp advertisements. Light surface rubbing to the embossed covers and in Very Good sound and tight condition.
