Hi! -
Thank you so very much for the HUGE book on the "Silent Screen" - the wonderful photos, the information, the overall condition and prompt shipping of this book. I have to admit that I did not truly expect this tome so soon but I am so pleased and happy when it came today, 13 July and its condition as well.
For all that and then some, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
My wishes for you and yours are that you all be happy, healthy, safe and have MANY GOOD YEARS AHEAD. Very Truly Yours -

Also, I have bookmarked your store's website and look forward to placing some more future orders from you.

Subject: AbeBooks Customer Inquiry:Question

I wish to thank you very much indeed for the above book which arrived so soon after ordering. Its condition was remarkable for one of nearly sixty years, which was so satisfying as I have been aware of this title for quite some time.

Two decades ago, my wife and I viewed an excellent BBC television documentary marking the centenary of Oscar Wilde's death. This was either expertly presented by or certainly predominantly featured his grandson, Merlin Holland and son of the author of this book. I am certain this was where I first became aware of its existence.

However, it was only when recently leafing through a couple of souvenir theatre programmes of previously attended Wilde plays, that I was reminded again of what has revealed itself to be a most moving and literate memoir and so soon set about obtaining this copy.

I could not be any more delighted with its contents, near immaculate condition and the care and attention you have taken with its beautifully protective and sturdy packaging. Forgive me, but there is many an online bookseller who could do well to take a leaf from your book!

Thank you again for your immaculate service. I am most grateful and only sorry that AbeBooks do not seem to have an accompanying page where some favourable "Feedback" could be submitted. In the absence of this, should you have a preferred option (for example, "Google Reviews") or indeed your own website, then please do not hesitate to inform me and I will be delighted to post a hopefully suitable testimonial.

Yours faithfully,
Ian Kerstein.

Good afternoon,
Just wanted to send a quick note to say a huge THANK YOU for the wonderful books that were received today.
They were packaged really well, arrived when you said they would, and were in immaculate condition.
I tried to find the business on Google but couldn’t see where I could leave a review so I did one on Yell instead.
Have a lovely rest of the day.
Warm regards,

Hello Little Stour Books,
My daughter purchased a copy of Schoolboys Annual, 1950 for me as a Christmas gift.
My overdue email is just to say how absolutely delighted I am by not only the book, but the truly beautiful way it was packaged. Everything from the quality padded envelope to the illustrated postage label, the plastic sleeve with delightful tiny bookshop sticker and your own bookmark were testament to a love of books.
And this was just a simple, inexpensive school annual!
It really was a pleasure and a delight to receive....please continue to keep up such great work!
I will be a customer again in the very near future and will gladly recommend your lovely shop to all my book friends.
Best wishes and thanks,
Michael

Dear Colin,
The book arrived in perfect shape and I am SUPER IMPRESSED with the very careful - exquisite, actually - packing job; it took me about 20 minutes to free it delicately from all the packing material.
And the book arrived here at my house in about 24 hours - all the way from England - incredible!
I do appreciate the care and thought you put into the preservation of this historical and rare book.
I am so happy that this book has returned safely home to Rumson, New Jersey after about 102 years.
If you have any idea who “Virginia” is or where this book has been these past 102 years, I would love to hear.
I am so pleased; thank you so much!

The book was made into a very special movie some time ago with Martin Sheehan and Alan Arkin. Greetings from Canada!
Thank you for your very prompt shipment of my order, The Ship of Adventure by Enid Blyton, placed April. 22, 2012. The book arrived today, April 30, in wonderful condition and has proven well worth the cost.
It's the nicest copy of a Blyton book I have found yet. Your online description of the title was honest and dead on--unlike some others elsewhere I have believed, to my sorrow. What a nice shop you must have!
I will definitely keep an eye on your web site. Do you by chance have a clean copy of The River of Adventure, by Enid Blyton, in the same format as The Ship of Adventure (illustrated front cover, no jacket, circa 1955)?
Thanks again.

Dear Sir / Madam ,
I wish to thank you for the books which I have now received via Royal Mail today Wed 31st Aug 2011 , at 10-40am. I originally ordered them from yourselves through Abebooks on Order No. 88715521.
The two books , both by the renowned Railway writer O. S. Nock , were as follows;
" William Stanier - A Biography " and " 60 Years of West Coast Express Running ".
Both books are in advertised condition . Which is exceptional , particularly with the Stanier biography , since that book itself was published in the year I was born , 1964.
Both books look even better as they are both finished off in the Protected cover , attached to each respective books jacket . Very nice indeed.
Many thanks also for the enclosed information relating to the further titles by O. S. Nock you currently have in stock.
I will study the list you supplied and will let you know in due course , if I choose to make any further purchases from your bookshop.
All the best.
Yours Sincerely
Alan Keenan

I have been collecting books all my life and must congratulate you on the presentation of the volumes you sell.
You have just sent me the Janet Baker Full Circle with which I am delighted.
It is an added joy to receive a book so obviously presented and packed with such care. Thank you to all concerned. I am pleased to be ordering another couple of volumes from you.
I will be sorting my own books & theatre programmes in order to prepare for a move of house. Are you on the lookout for such things and may I send you a list ?

Subject re: 8397 Real Grit by S Hocking Dear Colin, Thank you for applying the discount - it's kind of you. My comments are positive because you make exceptional efforts in respect of customer service, and I say this advisedly, as I buy up a lot of books on-line, and I find standards (see even in so basic a matter as answering an e-mail of preliminary enquiry for an advertised book) very variable, in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I have contacted 97 different booksellers since Jan 1st this year, and you are in the top five for speedy reply, straightforward dealing, consistent quality of photos and overall ease of transaction. When browsing ABE and other search listings, if I see that you and competitors are listing much the same book, I would, all things being equal, every time buy from you, even if your copy were a bit dearer. That said, you must have the patience of old Job himself, because I am well aware that there are many, many time-wasting, troublesome customers out there... I would be most interested in the article. I had no notion of Alan or a Salome Hocking (Salome Hocking - a wonderful name!). I wonder whether she was a dancer... I will take care of it and send it back ASAP. Cheers - Andrew Bell

Mr Button:

I received the Joyce Lankester Brisley anthology today. Thank you! It is in beautiful condition, exactly as it was described, and you did a marvelous job of packaging and shipping! I have to say, I had only one other experience with buying via the Internet from a shop in the UK, and it was somewhat negative, in that watermarks on the edges of the pages was not mentioned in the description or in the email correspondence and it was just sent in a mailer, so the top corners were bumped when I received it. I will definitely be going through your catalog to see if there is anything else I am interested in, because you are obviously an honest bookseller!
