Printed Maps and Town Plans of Bedfordshire 1576-1900 | Bedfordshire Historical Record Society Volume 62

Chambers, Betty

(Book #ID 116192)

Published by Bedfordshire Historical Record Society First Edition 1983. 1983.

First edition in publisher's original white card wrap covers (soft back). 8vo. 8½'' x 6''. It also describes the town plans for Bedford, Leighton Buzzard and Luton for the same period. The complex history of this is as complete a catalogue as possible of the county maps of Bedfordshire printed before 1901. The form of the entries follows the arrangement devised by Dr P. D. A. Harvey in his catalogue of The printed maps of Warwickshire 1576-1900 (1959) and since adopted for several other county cartobibliographies. Contains 250 pp with 16 monochrome illustrations throughout. Light marks to the white card covers, else in Very Good condition, no dust wrapper as issued. Member of the P.B.F.A.
