Aquincumi Látványraktár | Visual Store at Aquincum

Kiadó, Felelós [Editor in Chief]

(Book #ID 103216)

Published by Budapesti Történeti Múzeum, Budapest First Edition 2009. 2009.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original colour photographic matt paper covered boards. 4to. 8¼'' x 8''. The permanent exhibition of the Aquincum Museum, which presents the memories of different eras in a chronological and thematic order. The warehouses of the Budapest History Museum preserve one of the largest archaeological collections in the country. Within this, the Aquincum Museum houses millions of archaeological relics of the capital's history from prehistoric times to the time of the Hungarian conquest. The Visual Warehouse wanted to achieve the goal of presenting as much of this vast collection of historical resources and works of art as possible, of presenting the museum's treasures, which were previously difficult to access for both professionals and visitors, but also internationally accounted for. This is made possible by the new exhibition building of the Aquincum Museum, which was remodelled in 2007-2008. The Spectacle Warehouse accompanies the archaeological finds of Budapest and Aquincum with chronological and thematic grouping of the period from prehistoric times to the conquest. In the walk-in storage space built-in with a simple installation, the visitor has one between the illuminated shelves. Contains 232 pp with text in Hungarian and English, colour illustrations and archive photographs, and maps throughout. In Fine condition. Two Museum pamphlet guides loosely inserted.
