Stearns, Frank Preston [1846-1917] Tintoretto (born Jacopo Comin, late September or early October, 1518 - May 31, 1594) was an Italian painter and a notable exponent of the Venetian school. The speed with which he painted, and the unprecedented boldness of his brushwork, were both admired and criticised by his contemporaries.
