First edition hard back binding in publisher's original quarter brown leather, the spine divided into six panels, gilt lettered in the second and sixth, top edge gilt, nutmeg cloth covered sides, cream and brown Cockerell marble lining papers. 4to. 12½'' x 9¼''. This volume was completed in 1914, but owing to the War and other reasons, its publication has been delayed until 1924. Contains tissue-guarded frontispiece, red and black printed title, xxi, 551 pp with monochrome illustrations, maps and photographs throughout. Thinning to bottom second rear end paper, rubbing to the high points of the covers, spine sun faded, binding firm and tight.
