Mills, Alfred [Alfred Mills (1776-1833), draughtsman, was a skilful designer of illustrations to small books of juvenile instruction, such as 'Pictures of Roman History in Miniature,' 1809, 'Pictures of English History,' 1811, and 'Portraits of the Sovereigns of England,' 1817. He worked in this line of books for about forty years. He also frequently drew designs on blocks for the leading wood-engravers and 1807 he exhibited three figure drawings at the Royal Academy].

Contains 96pp with 47 single-sided engraved copper plate monochrome illustrations of people of the world. Rubbing to the edges of the covers, slight spine slant. Member of the P.B.F.A.
