First edition hard back binding in publisher's original grey paper covered boards, nutmeg cloth spine, black title to the front cover. 12mo. 6'' x 4½''. Contains 59pp with 10 monochrome gravure photographic illustrations of carvings made by Eric Gill c.1934 around the courtyard of the Rockefeller museum in Jerusalem, which opened to the public in 1938. They present the various civilisations which formed the cultures of the land of Palestine. Fine condition book in original glassine unprinted dust wrapper with piece missing to the top rear cover. Acetate film protection. Member of the P.B.F.A.
