Publisher's original twine stitched printed thin card wrap covers, red linen cloth spine. Landscape 9½'' x 13''. The model is taken from an express engine on the Bavarian State Railway, of a type in use since 1874, and constructed by J. A. Maffei, of Hirschau, near Münich. Contains 14 pp with monochrome text illustrations throughout. Inside the rear cover are two detailed folding colour illustrated steam engine models with a further colour illustrated model printed to the inside rear card covers, opposite the folding model is a legend of 100 numbered parts, these number parts are replicated across the three model illustrations. Bottom corners are missing to the front and rear covers, rubbing to the edges. Unbelievable survivor and truly scarce. Member of the P.B.F.A.
