First edition hard back binding in dark green cloth covers, gilt title and lettering to the spine. 8vo. 9'' x 6''. Contains List of Subscribers, 220 printed pages of text. From the private library of Dr William Evelyn St. Lawrence Finny who served as Mayor of Kingston-upon-Thames on seven occasions and was largely responsible for the obtaining of a royal warrant from King George V confirming the status of Kingston as a Royal Borough. His smart armorial bookplate is to the front paste down and he has made many interesting pencil notes to the margins along with two tipped-in hand written leafs referring to King John's First Charter to Kingston 26th April 1200, also tipped-in is a printed single leaf page titled 'Kingston, Extracts from the Domesday Survey, 1085-86 A.D.' SIGNED by him to the dedication leaf 'W. E. St. Lawrence Finny, Kingston 1902.' End papers are browned and in Very Good sound condition, probably rebound on the instructions of Dr. Finny in the early 1900's. Member of the P.B.F.A.
