Second edition hard back binding in full crimson leather, the spine divided into six panels, gilt and black morocco lettering label in the second, parallel twin gilt detail lines dividing the others. 8vo. 9'' x 6''. Contains (xxiv), 3080 works of art catalogued and listed over 264 pp, these are identified as being in one of XI galleries and several differently named rooms as well as one hall, followed by an 'Index Of Lenders' (xxv-xxxiii), which is followed by 'Index To Advertisements' and then 18 pp of photographic advertisements, 4 of which are in full colour, lastly a fold-out 'Reference Map, Showing Chief Centres Of Chinese Artistic Activity.' One small ink mark to the fore edge, light tanning to the closed text block edges. 'The Sunday Observer' dated November 24, 1935 related newspaper cutting by Laurence Binyon loosely inserted.
