Hope-Moncrieff, A. R. [Ascott Robert Hope Moncrieff (1846-1927)] Painted by L. Burleigh Bruhl (20 July 1861 - 29 January 1942) A landscape painter and poster artist and was responsible for 'Cornish Riviera' the famous G.W.R. railway poster, along with other images depicting the delights of Falmouth and Glorious Devon.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original donkey brown cloth covered boards with symmetrical orange and green designs to the spine and front board, Essex coat of arms to the front board, blocked and lettered gilt back, top edge gilt. Quarto. 9¼'' x 6¾. Contains colour frontispiece, (xii), 262 pp + 6 pp adverts, with 74 captioned paper-guarded single-sided colour plates, folding map. Front free end paper absent, rubbing to the spine ends and corners, light foxing to the rear end papers and in Good condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A.
