Printed by Johnck, Kibbee & Company, San Francisco, California, U.S.A. below which is SIGNED by the illustrator 'Lawrence Andrew Patterson' and 'David Anderson' who provides a Critical Analysis. Also inscribed by the Publisher John Johnck to the second front free end paper 'Dear Renata, And when the days of our companionship have fled into the Past, forever gone and dead - And when you gently muse, pray keep for me a memory in your golden head, Affectionately, John J. Folio Society facsimile limited to 1,000 numbered copies, limitation page and end sheets printed letterpress by the Logan Press. Hand written number 762 of 1000 Limited Edition copies with a new etching hand-printed, SIGNED and numbered by the artist 'Niroot Puttapipat', and tipped onto a special limitation spread, 16 mounted colour plates with gold borders and highlights and tipped into decorative anthropomorphic silhouette border designs. First thus US illustrated edition by Anne Harriet Fish hard back binding in publisher's original black cloth spine over orange black and cream paper covered boards with faded gilt titles to the spine, cream and orange paisley designed end papers, plates printed by the specialist colour printers George Gibbons and Co., of Leicester. 4to. 11¾'' x 9¼''. The Rubáiyát has 108 pages comprising 75 quatrains enriched with 20 full-page single-sided colour plates, including the second half title, all with tissue-guards and elaborate initial capitals in orange and black by Anne Harriet Fish. Attractive bookplate to the front paste down is that of Francis Edward Bliss (1847-1930), businessman and art collector from Massachusetts - but perhaps most notable as the father of Arthur and Howard Bliss. Corners bumped and with rubbing along the bottom edges, light foxing to the edges of the end papers and in Very Good clean condition. Member of the P.B.F.A.

Stated first edition to the title page and stamped number 427 of a limited edition of 1000 (?) copies, colophon for Fraser & Neave Ltd., Singapore to the last leaf. Issue heavily discussed and commented on by the Rubáiyát collectors, which alternates between ornamentation, symbolism and esotericism due to the oriental and art nouveau character of the illustrations. The second sheet with a monogram 'WGS' William George Stirling. Sheet 29 with hand-blacked over-painting of the symbolic genitals of the female figure. Irregular sun fading to the the covers, foxing to the end papers, beyond which the sheets used are a superior quality and are in Fine condition. Member of the P.B.F.A.
