Admiral of the Fleet Roger John Brownlow Keyes, 1st Baron Keyes, GCB, KCVO, CMG, DSO (4 October 1872 - 26 December 1945) was a British naval officer.

Contains 336 pp with monochrome archive photographs throughout. Near Fine condition book in Very Good condition dust wrapper with tiny chips to the tips and corners, not price clipped, 30/-. Housed in Fine condition marble paper covered open-fronted slip case. SIGNED inscription by the author to the front free end paper 'With many happy memories of Eva (Eva Mary Bowlby) and Roger Keyes - Admiral of the Fleet, under whom the author served in both War and Peace' followed by a four line poem extract by Newbolt + double sided hand written letter on the author's private letter-headed note paper 'Hartley Mauditt House, Nr. Alton, Hampshire (author's foreword address) to Lady Keyes 'My dear Lady Keyes, We have just returned from the South of France which accounts for the delay in returning your copy of 'Footprints' duly signed. I hope you will forgive me quoting those few lines of Newbolt's poem, but I feel they apply most aptly to Rogers character and the way he lived his life.
