Rubáiyát over unnumbered pages carrying the 75 quatrains of Edward FitzGerald's version enriched with 24 full-page single-sided colour plates mounted upon a suitable paper within a plate marked impression. The poem has been printed throughout in different colour Arabic calligraphic font with art nouveau style surround. The colour scheme suggests Eastern inspiration and the artist has specially studied to reproduce the spirit of the Poem, and he has been assisted throughout by a competent Orientalist, a pupil of Professor Vambery. Small residue mark to the verso of the second plate where it has been tipped back in, spine sun faded, small chip to the foot of the spine and in Very Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A.

Lengren, Zbigniew [Deutsche Nachdichtung von James Krüss / German Storyline by James Krüss] Zbigniew Lengren (2 February 1919 in Tula - 1 October 2003 in Warsaw) was a Polish cartoonist, caricaturist, and illustrator, of Swedish descent. He was awarded the "Order of Smile" amongst other, numerous awards. His most famous creation is Professor Filutek, who appeared once a week on the last page of Przekrój magazine, together with his dog Filus, for over 50 years, a record run in Polish comics. Lengren was also a writer, especially of poems for children.
