First thus edition hard back binding in publisher's original vellum covered boards, gilt title lettering to the front cover. 4to. 11½'' x 8½''. The Rubáiyát with unnumbered pages comprising 101 quatrains with full-page and vignette monochrome illustrations throughout by Lawrence Andrew Patterson, followed by [ii, blank], 47pp. This book has been hand-set in Humanistic type, based on the best hand lettering of the Humanistic period. Printed by Johnck, Kibbee & Company, San Francisco, California, U.S.A. below which is SIGNED by the illustrator 'Lawrence Andrew Patterson' and 'David Anderson' who provides a Critical Analysis. Also inscribed by the Publisher John Johnck to the second front free end paper 'Dear Renata, And when the days of our companionship have fled into the Past, forever gone and dead - And when you gently muse, pray keep for me a memory in your golden head, Affectionately, John J. Johnck, February 15, 1932.' In Fine condition.
